Cienfuegos is one of the bigger, more crowded cities we visited. More popular (especially in Canada) for its beach resorts. We walked around the boulevard and then had lunch in a beautiful restaurant which was once a palace, built as a gift from a wealthy merchant to his fiancé. What I found the most interesting is the little sphinx in the entrance which reminded me of Egypt, and the interior which was very arab/islamic looking.
It is okay for Cuban standards, definitely nothing to write home about. The palace was beautiful though.
Walk around the town and the main boulevard to see the nice buildings and the people.
What used to be a palace has now been nationalized and become a restaurant and cafe (on the roof). Beautiful views from the roof and the palace itself is beautiful.
