Mykonos: Everything you need to know

Beaches

*Make reservations everywhere and don’t be late to avoid having your table given to another client. Summer is peak season as you know and everyone wants to be at the same place.

Buddha Bar

In the Santa Marina hotel, great place to go for lunch (the food is great) or a chilled day by the beach with friends. Great for family lunches too.

Buddha Bar Santa Maria

Scorpios

Quite a big place including a restaurant, indoor bar, shop, cabanas for the parties, and sun beds on a lower level, near the sea. The shop inside sells clothes and accessories by Caravana Montaecristo (from Mexico) they also have pieces made exclusively for Scorpios. The food is amazing, note that you can’t order food from the restaurant to the sunbeds, there’s a different menu there so I recommend booking a table at the restaurant. At around 6/7 it gets pretty crowded as the party starts. You can order some food (from a more limited menu) during the party.

Nammos

Excellent food, slowly gets louder and turns into one big party.

Recommended dishes:

  • Truffle pasta
  • Calamari
  • Greek salad
  • Sushi/Sashimi

Alemagou

Located on Ftelia beach, it’s quite secluded so it’s the perfect place to relax and catch a break. Alemagou throw big parties throughout the summer, they usually update all their info on their facebook page. I haven’t been during the day, only went for the ‘Rumors’ party at sunset. They played deep house throughout the night and Guy Gerber was the highlight of the line up. If you like deep house then you should definitely check this out.

Restaurants

Interni

Great restaurant, set up is nice. The food is great, as is the service. I recommend:

  • Mozarella di buffala
  • Beef tataki
  • Tuna tartare
  • Ceviche
  • Lobster Risotto
  • Beef tenderloin
  • Black angus tagliata
  • Semolina.

Buddha Bar Beach

Located in the Santa Marina hotel is this amazing restaurant overlooking the Aegean sea. The food is excellent and it’s such a nice atmosphere. I went there during the day but it’s just as nice at night.

Matsuhisa

(Nobu) – in the Belvedere hotel. I recommend:

  • Rock shrimp tempura
  • Crispy salmon
  • Crispy tuna
  • Cod
  • Spicy tuna
  • Ceviche
  • Beef tataki
  • Mochi caramel and chocolate.

Sea Satin

Located under the Mykonos windmills, this restaurant is a combination of excellent service, amazing food and most importantly, a lot of fun. The fish is delivered fresh on a daily basis – of course, and you have the option of choosing getting up to choose the fish. The best thing about the experience is that the whole restaurant turns into one big party at one point which is a lot of fun.

Uno Con Carne

What used to be an open air cinema is now an Argentinian gem. Uno Con Carne aims to satisfy everyone, so although it is an Argentinian restaurant, they offer seafood dishes and sushi.

(other dishes are good in all these restaurants but unfortunately I don’t remember everything we ordered)

Nightlife

Book a table wherever you decide to go because it gets super crowded!

Moni Club

The music depends on the night but I would say mostly hiphop. It’s a lot of fun, everyone’s always having a good time there and the atmosphere is super positive.

Güzel

(walking distance from Moni) Usually one would go at 3/4 am and it stays open till everyone decides to leave basically. The music is a mix of everything R&B/Hip Hop/House. It’s a lot of fun and you will definitely enjoy it.
